Strive Introduces SATS Preferred Stock Amid Growing Bitcoin Holdings

In a strategic move to enhance its financial position and Bitcoin portfolio, Strive, a company specializing in Bitcoin treasury management, has unveiled a new perpetual preferred stock designated as SATS. This announcement was made on Tuesday evening and aims to attract investors with an attractive fixed dividend rate of 15%.

Details of the SATS Offering

  • Strive plans to offer 5 million shares at a price of $100 each.
  • The total capital raise is projected to be $500 million.
  • Proceeds from this offering will be utilized to purchase additional Bitcoin, acquire income-generating assets, or repurchase shares of stock.

The SATS shares will rank junior to Strive’s existing preferred stock, SATA, which currently features a variable dividend rate of 13%. Similar to the SATA shares, SATS holders will receive daily dividend payments, which signal the company’s commitment to regular shareholder returns.

Establishing a Dividend Reserve

At the close of the equity offering, Strive intends to create a dividend reserve that will cover the first 18 months’ worth of dividends on the SATS shares, ensuring that the company can meet its payment obligations upfront.

Recent Growth in Bitcoin Holdings

Strive has notably differentiated itself from larger competitors in the Bitcoin treasury space, like Strategy, by significantly increasing its Bitcoin holdings in recent weeks. The company recently added 3,311 Bitcoin to its portfolio, raising its total to 32,773 coins, which currently has an estimated value of approximately $2.7 billion. This is a substantial rise from just below 20,000 coins three months ago.

As the cryptocurrency landscape continues to evolve, Strive’s strategic financial maneuvers, including the introduction of SATS, reflect its proactive approach in capitalizing on Bitcoin market dynamics.
