BlackRock Reports Strong Recovery in Digital Assets for Q3 2023
Q3 Performance Overview
BlackRock has demonstrated a notable recovery in its digital asset management, reporting $79.6 billion in assets under management (AUM) at the close of September. This marks a substantial increase of 63% from the $48.8 billion recorded at the end of June.
Investor Activity and Market Recovery
During the third quarter, investors contributed $7.9 billion to BlackRock’s digital asset offerings. This influx more than compensated for the $2.2 billion withdrawn in the first half of 2023, highlighting a shift in investor sentiment as crypto markets recovered from earlier lows.
As the market regained momentum, the performance of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin revived, contributing positively to the asset values held by funds. The resurgence in crypto prices primarily fueled this recovery, with market gains accounting for $22.9 billion of the net increase in digital assets.
