As reported by MacRumors, the anticipated rollout of Apple Wallet car keys has been confirmed by GM, initially mentioned by Apple in mid-2025. The program will see a select range of vehicles from Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC gain the ability to store digital keys within Apple Wallet.
The rollout began on a limited basis in late September 2026 and is set to expand through October, with a broader launch across more vehicles anticipated by December.

The rollout encompasses the following models:
Cadillac Models
- Vistiq (2027)
- Optiq (2026-2027)
- Lyriq (2025-2027)
- Escalade (2027)
- ESCALADE IQ/IQL (2027)
Chevrolet Models
- Suburban (2026-2027)
- Tahoe (2026-2027)
GMC Models
- Yukon (2026-2027)
- Yukon XL (2026-2027)
This expansion marks one of the most significant updates to the car key feature in recent times, and GM has confirmed that it plans to continue adding car key support for additional vehicles in the future. Customers will receive notifications through the ‘What’s New’ section of their vehicle’s app when their model gains this capability.
