No Man’s Sky Launches on iOS with Full Experience Features
Hello Games has announced that the much-acclaimed space exploration game, No Man’s Sky, will soon be available on iOS devices, specifically the iPhone and iPad. This mobile version is set to launch on October 28th, offering fans a chance to explore the vast universe right from their mobile screens.
Full Game Experience on Mobile
According to Sean Murray from Hello Games, the iOS adaptation is designed to deliver the complete No Man’s Sky experience, not a stripped-down version. In his blog post, he emphasized, “I guess I should say this is not No Man’s Sky Lite.” The mobile edition will encompass all updates released since the game’s original launch, including the extensive Voyagers expansion introduced last year. However, it will not feature multiplayer capabilities or planetary settlements, similar to earlier console adaptations.
System Requirements and Features
The game will be compatible with the iPhone 11 and the 3rd generation iPad Air or newer models. Remarkably, the game will require only 5GB of storage for download. The iOS version boasts redesigned touch controls, support for external controllers, screen casting, and mouse-and-keyboard functionality for iPad users. Murray highlighted the efforts made towards ensuring enhanced battery life and optimal device thermodynamics, which enables extended and comfortable gaming sessions.
Pricing and Longevity of the Game
No Man’s Sky will be available as a “free to try” offering at launch, although the pricing for the complete version remains to be announced. This marks a decade since the game first made its debut, during which it has significantly evolved. The iOS version will add to the list of existing platforms that already includes PC, Mac, and nearly all modern gaming consoles, in addition to a virtual reality option.
Ongoing Support and Updates
Hello Games continues to enrich the No Man’s Sky universe with regular free updates, such as the recent Cosmos expansion released in September. This consistent flow of new content ensures that players have much to explore, making the game continually vibrant and engaging.
