Vice President JD Vance Declines to Endorse Netanyahu’s Reelection Bid
In a recent interview, Vice President JD Vance confirmed his decision to stay out of the Israeli electoral process, which coincides with President Donald Trump’s strong endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Vance expressed in an interview on Mark Halperin’s “2WAY Tonight” that his priority remains the upcoming midterms in the United States, emphasizing that he focuses on American candidates rather than foreign elections. “I endorse American candidates, and that’s where I’m focused on in the midterms. So I’m not getting involved in Israeli elections,” he stated.
Clarification on Political Stance
Despite refraining from endorsing Netanyahu, Vance clarified that this choice is not an indication of his position against the Prime Minister. “I’m not anti-endorsing him. I’m not pro-endorsing him. I’m not getting involved in Israeli elections,” he remarked, indicating neutrality in the matter.
Vance’s comments come shortly after Trump’s announcement of his “Complete and Total Endorsement” for Netanyahu via a post on Truth Social, where he lauded Netanyahu as a critical ally in addressing challenges posed by Iran. Trump asserted, “Bibi Netanyahu has been a Great Warrior Prime Minister, and an even greater Partner for Peace in combating the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Netanyahu’s Response to Trump’s Endorsement
Upon receiving Trump’s endorsement, Netanyahu expressed gratitude, calling it “extraordinary.” He noted, “Israel has never had a greater friend in the White House. Together we will never let Iran’s regime get nuclear weapons.”
Trump further asserted that Netanyahu has maintained his resolve despite significant political pressure, reinforcing his support with a plea for the Israeli leader to be reelected. “BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” Trump proclaimed.

Conclusion
Vance’s recent decisions come in contrast to his earlier international political involvement, specifically his campaigning alongside former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban before Orban’s reelection defeat earlier this year. As the political landscape continues to evolve, Vance remains focused on domestic political endeavors in the lead-up to the midterms.
The White House has yet to comment on Vance’s remarks regarding the Israeli elections.
