Verizon Introduces iPhone Handoff Feature for $10/Month
Verizon has announced its plans to implement a monthly charge of $10 for the iPhone Handoff functionality, a feature introduced by Apple in iOS 27. This innovative feature enables users to share a single phone number across two distinct iPhones, enhancing connectivity and convenience.

Details on the iPhone Handoff Feature
This feature, which will work with both the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro models, was included in Verizon’s recent announcement regarding the iPhone Duo. According to the carrier:
“Verizon will support iPhone Handoff, giving customers the flexibility to use a single Verizon phone number seamlessly across two compatible iPhone models. Whether using the pocketable iPhone Duo on the go or iPhone 18 Pro for work, customers can switch active status between devices at any time while keeping full access to Verizon’s 5G network.”
With iPhone Handoff, users can transition between their primary iPhone and a secondary model. However, it’s important to note that the phone number can only be active on one device at a time. Verizon indicated that support for this feature is “coming soon,” aligning with previous statements from Apple about its rollout by the year’s end.
Comparing Carrier Offerings
Verizon’s pricing for iPhone Handoff is set at $10 per month, which positions it higher than competitor T-Mobile, which charges $5 for the same service. Meanwhile, AT&T has not disclosed any plans to offer iPhone Handoff at this time.
International Availability
The iPhone Handoff feature is also expanding its reach internationally. In the United Kingdom, EE has announced upcoming support, with users on the Full Works Plus plan receiving it at no extra cost, while others can opt-in for a fee of £5 per month. In Germany, Deutsche Telekom offers the service for €6.95 monthly, though it is included at no charge for customers on MagentaMobil L and XL plans.
