Bitcoin’s Potential Rally Linked to Big Tech Earnings
Wall Street expert Jordi Visser has outlined his perspective on Bitcoin’s (BTC) anticipated price movements, connecting them to the impending earnings reports of major technology companies. He suggests that Bitcoin’s next upward movement could correlate with a rebound in artificial intelligence (AI) stocks, expected to occur around the end of this month.
Impact of AI Stocks on Bitcoin
During a recent appearance on Anthony Pompliano’s podcast, Visser emphasized that the current state of Bitcoin’s market dynamics is closely tied to the recovery of AI investments. He indicated that there has been a significant withdrawal of capital from AI trade, setting the groundwork for a potential recovery, stating, “So the risk has been completely taken off.”
Visser highlighted the importance of month-end timing, explaining that hedge fund managers often prefer to hold back on risky investments until a new month begins, particularly when they face financial pressures.
Midterm Elections and Trading Sentiment
Adding another layer to the discussion, Visser pointed out the upcoming midterm elections on November 3, which could further influence market sentiment. This political milestone may coincide with the tech earnings reports and the related movements in Bitcoin’s market.
December: A Second Opportunity for Rally?
Visser is optimistic about another opportunity for Bitcoin to rise in December. He argues that tech earnings could create temporary surges rather than prolonged gains. He speculated that if the market sees increased adoption through tokenization and heightened interest in cryptocurrency, Bitcoin could benefit significantly as capital returns to the sector.
He noted, “That is the time when a lot of people just say, ‘I’m done with the year.’ So go for Bitcoin. I expect it to have its next move up to the highs,” suggesting that many investors might focus on Bitcoin as the year comes to a close.
Bitcoin’s Performance Amid Market Chaos
In discussing Bitcoin’s relative strength, Visser remarked that the cryptocurrency has managed to hold its ground while other markets face uncertainties. He mentioned that Bitcoin’s Sharpe ratio has recently improved, indicating a better return relative to risk compared to traditional assets. “Bitcoin’s Sharpe ratio right now over the last four months stands out, and it stands out as the rest of the world is kind of going through this chaos,” he stated.
As of October 13, Bitcoin’s Sharpe ratio stood around -0.62, recovering from a significantly lower figure of approximately -1.4 in early August, yet it remains below zero. He contrasted Bitcoin’s nearly 30% increase over this period to the stagnant performance of the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500, along with declining bond values.
Current Market Sentiment
At present, Bitcoin’s price is hovering around $81,916.8, reflecting a modest increase of 0.6% over the last 24 hours. However, the retail sentiment surrounding Bitcoin has shifted to ‘extremely bearish’ on platforms like Stocktwits, with a notable decrease in discussion activity.
In summary, the dynamics of Bitcoin’s pricing are closely tied to the broader technology sector, particularly the AI market and seasonal investment behaviors. As the month progresses, it will be crucial for investors to monitor these developments closely for indications of potential rally points in Bitcoin’s market trajectory.
