XRP ETFs Experience Notable Inflows Amid Price Fluctuations
Between October 5 and October 9, U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded net inflows totaling $11.31 million. This surge occurred despite a decline in the price of XRP, which fell from approximately $1.52 to $1.40, even hitting a low of $1.32 during this period. This situation brings to light a crucial question: Can the concentrated demand from these funds sustain the support zone between $1.32 and $1.38, or is a rebound to the $1.50–$1.56 range necessary for the short-term trend to turn positive?
Fund Contributions and Market Dynamics
Notably, Bitwise was the standout performer, contributing $10.55 million to the weekly inflows and playing a pivotal role in overall market performance. Meanwhile, Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ added $4.10 million. Conversely, Canary Capital’s XRPC faced a $3.34 million outflow, causing three out of five trading sessions to note no net inflow.
Excluding Bitwise, the remaining funds collectively recorded a modest net addition of roughly $760,000. This imbalance raises questions about the sustainability of the inflow trends over the past 12 weeks, suggesting that the demand has not been evenly spread across different fund issuers. The forthcoming weeks will be critical to assess whether the influx will diversify or if market support remains reliant on a single major fund.
Current Asset Standings and Comparisons
The current net assets of the ETF segment sit at about $1.57 billion, reflecting approximately $1.8 billion in total inflows since the launch of these funds. The existing gap of around $230 million offers an indicator of the ETF’s market value.
In contrast, other cryptocurrency funds saw substantial outflows during the same period; U.S. Bitcoin funds experienced a decrease of $681 million. Notably, XRP was the only one among various funds—including Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana—to experience net inflows, reflecting its relative strength amid broader market volatility. Nevertheless, this single-week performance does not confirm that ETF demand is robust enough to counter ongoing selling pressure in the spot market.
Can Buyers Sustain XRP’s Support Levels?
Starting the week at $1.52, XRP closed at approximately $1.40, with a brief dip to $1.32 noted on October 8—a total decline of 7.3%. The $1.32-$1.38 price range now presents a critical test for support. If this range holds and ETF inflows remain strong, it could indicate strong buying interest. However, a failure to maintain this support would illustrate that inflows alone cannot stave off technical declines.
Looking towards the upside, resistance levels are observed at $1.50-$1.56. A consistent movement above this resistance, as opposed to just intraday spikes, would lend credence to an improving short-term trend. Until such a movement is confirmed, the current inflows hint at potential but do not assure a price reversal.
New Developments in the XRP Market
Evernorth recently launched its own XRP vehicle, XRPN, which began trading on Nasdaq on October 12. Holding approximately 473 million XRP, it adds another means for investors to gain exposure to XRP. However, the immediate impacts of this new vehicle on demand or price remain uncertain.
The ongoing assessment of XRP’s support levels is crucial, particularly as it faces potential downsides around current pricing. If XRP can maintain its support and continue generating positive inflows from ETFs, it may establish a favorable outlook for accumulation during price dips. Conversely, if the support fails or inflow sources dwindle, the existing streak of inflows may not provide a strong foundation for price stability.
Ultimately, a sustained return beyond $1.50-$1.56 will stand as the key benchmark for determining improvements in XRP’s short-term trends, while Evernorth’s XRP exposure could introduce a new demand element as its market presence develops.
