October 2026 Community Day: Zorua and Zoroark in Pokémon GO
Event Overview
This month’s Community Day spotlights Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokémon from the Unova region. During this event, Trainers will have the opportunity to evolve Zorua into Zoroark, gaining access to the exclusive Fast Attack, Sucker Punch, either throughout the event or within four hours afterwards.
Introducing Zoroark
Zoroark is notable for its striking design and strong offensive capabilities, underscored by its Attack-oriented stats. As a pure Dark type Pokémon, it offers significant resistances against Psychic, Ghost, and Dark moves.
Zoroark’s Role in Pokémon GO PvE
Performance in Raids
Previously, Zoroark utilized Fast Attacks like Snarl and Shadow Claw, with a range of Charged Attacks available. Its optimal PvE moveset included Snarl coupled with Foul Play. However, with the addition of Sucker Punch, players can now experiment with different strategies.
Despite a solid Attack value that allows Zoroark to deal considerable damage to Psychic and Ghost raid bosses, it faces hurdles due to its fragile defenses. Zoroark’s low durability can hinder its effectiveness as a raid attacker, often resulting in it fainting before maximizing its Charged Attacks.
Comparison with Other Dark Attackers
When compared to stronger contenders in the Dark type category—such as Mega Tyranitar, Shadow Tyranitar, and Darkrai—Zoroark falls short. These alternatives not only deliver higher damage but also boast better bulk, positioning them as more viable options in raids.
Nevertheless, Zoroark still holds value for Trainers who are newcomers or those constructing their Dark type teams. With appropriate moves, Zoroark can serve as an economical option against certain Psychic type bosses.
Final Thoughts
While Zoroark’s standing in the PvE landscape may not categorize it as a leading choice, its ample Attack makes it a worthy addition to any Trainer’s roster. It could be particularly beneficial for those still exploring the variety of Dark type Pokémon available or those who appreciate using their favorite characters in battles.
As we look forward to potential future updates that could introduce moves like Night Daze, Zoroark remains an intriguing Pokémon for Trainers looking to diversify their battle strategies.
