Understanding Bitcoin’s Market Trends: Insights from Benjamin Cowen
As Bitcoin continues its downward trajectory in the weeks leading up to October’s end, many investors are expressing concern and are tempted to exit the market. However, noted crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen believes this reaction may be misguided.
Who is Benjamin Cowen?
Benjamin Cowen, the voice behind the YouTube channel ‘Into The Cryptoverse’, has garnered significant attention for his expertise in analyzing Bitcoin’s market cycles. His predictions, including a timely warning about the crypto crash of 2021, have established him as a respected figure among cryptocurrency analysts.
Current Market Analysis
In 2023, Cowen has been revisiting the intricate patterns of Bitcoin’s four-year cycle, suggesting that the primary selling season concluded in late 2025. He posits that current market dynamics signal the onset of a new phase for Bitcoin.
“Usually the time to sell Bitcoin (if you are going to) is Q4 of post-halving years, not during the Q4 dump of midterm years,” Cowen stated on X on October 30.
Cowen’s Four-Year Cycle Explained
Cowen’s analysis is heavily influenced by Bitcoin’s halving events, which occur approximately every four years. During these halvings, the rewards for mining new coins are halved, effectively slowing the growth of Bitcoin’s supply. According to Cowen, the year following a halving typically marks a peak in Bitcoin’s value, while the subsequent U.S. midterm election year often sees the lowest prices.
Cowen currently identifies the fourth quarter of 2025 as the peak price period, while he believes an accumulation phase for long-term investors began on July 1, 2026.
“Today (July 1st), Bitcoin put in a new low, justifying the views I held for the 1st half of the year,” Cowen remarked on that date.
Recent Movements and Predictions
As the market experiences a decline in Q4, Cowen interprets these fluctuations as potential buying opportunities for those who have already sold their positions. He recently discussed two potential scenarios in his October 30 YouTube video titled “Bitcoin: The Q4 Dump is Here.”
- Scenario One: A rapid decline triggered by panic selling, resulting in a quick market capitulation.
- Scenario Two: A defense of the $73,000 to $77,000 support level, followed by a bounce towards $79,000 to $80,000 before a final dip post-midterms in November.
Current Bitcoin Status
At the time of this writing, Bitcoin is priced at $76,783, reflecting a 1.20% decrease over the previous 24 hours. This price lies within the lower range of Cowen’s designated support levels.
