Bitcoin and Ether Prices Fluctuate Ahead of the Weekend
Current Market Overview
As the weekend approaches, Bitcoin (BTC) has experienced a decline of approximately 4% compared to the previous Friday, though it has made a recovery to about $82,500 after hitting a low of around $80,300 on Thursday. Conversely, Ether (ETH) has seen a more significant drop, falling by 9% over the week to reach approximately $2,500.
Factors Influencing Price Movements
The recent bounce-back in Bitcoin pricing is reportedly linked to comments made by former President Donald Trump on Truth Social, where he noted that the U.S. would not engage in military action against Iran before the upcoming midterm elections scheduled for November 3. This announcement appears to have contributed to a temporary stabilization in various markets, including cryptocurrencies.
In related market activity, Brent crude oil prices have decreased by about 1%, settling around $103 per barrel.
Performance of Other Cryptocurrencies
Smaller cryptocurrencies exhibited a stronger performance, with the CoinDesk 80 index rising by 2.2% since midnight UTC. This increases in value outpace the 1% uptick seen in the CoinDesk 5 index. However, the broader CoinDesk 100 remains down by 2.2% over 24 hours, with decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens suffering a nearly 4% decline.
ETF Market Dynamics
In the U.S., there were outflows in Bitcoin, Ether, and Zcash Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) reported on Thursday. In contrast, XRP funds managed to attract investments during this period, standing out among crypto products.
