Zerohash Launches AUTH Product to Enhance Transaction Efficiency
Regulatory Context and Expansion Efforts
Zerohash, established in 2017, is making strides in both product innovation and regulatory compliance. The firm is currently navigating its regulatory landscape following an application for a national trust bank charter that was returned by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in July. This return indicated that the application contained material deficiencies. Zerohash has since taken proactive measures by reapplying with a more focused application on August 18. As of now, this application is under review.
Introducing AUTH: Simplifying Transactions
The core objective of Zerohash’s new product, AUTH, is to streamline the process of moving funds between wallets and accounts. Users can initiate transactions within specific applications that support AUTH by selecting their desired account or wallet, signing in, and approving the transaction. The system automatically manages the routing and settlement of these transactions, while allowing each app to determine the types of assets and transfer methods it will support.
Addressing Transaction Challenges
Alex LaPrade, CEO of a well-known non-custodial Ethereum and multi-chain crypto wallet, highlighted the previous difficulties that users faced when transferring to wallets. He noted that the process often required multiple address verifications and test payments, creating significant friction. With the introduction of AUTH, Zerohash aims to alleviate these complications, ultimately facilitating smoother transactions.
Zerohash’s Global Footprint
According to its official website, Zerohash boasts a broad regulatory footprint, operating across the European Union, Latin America, Bermuda, and the United States. The company maintains regulated entities across 51 jurisdictions in the U.S. Earlier this year, Zerohash was in negotiations for acquisition by Mastercard, which ultimately did not materialize. At that time, reports suggested that Zerohash was looking to raise $250 million, valuing the company at approximately $1.5 billion.
