As Apple approaches the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, the company is gearing up for significant redesigns in its iPhone Pro models slated for release next year. A recent leak has shed light on these changes, revealing that the dream of a cutout-free display may not materialize just yet.

Dynamic Island Feature to Remain in New iPhone Pro Display

Reports from Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station highlighted anticipated models including the iPhone 18e, iPhone 18, and iPhone Air 2, set to launch in early 2027. The focus, however, is on the iPhone 18, which is expected to introduce advanced features inspired by the Pro lineup.

In a follow-up discussion on Weibo, Digital Chat Station provided insights on the design evolution for the forthcoming iPhone Pro models. Speculations have been swirling regarding a redesign aimed at celebrating the iPhone’s historic milestone.

The anticipated updates include a quad-curved display that seamlessly wraps around the device edges, enhancing the overall aesthetic by reducing visible bezels. Initially, rumors even hinted at the possibility of eliminating the Dynamic Island for a fully glass front, but these have been clarified.

Upon inquiry about whether the ‘iPhone 20 Pro Max’ will eliminate the Dynamic Island feature in favor of a completely cutout-free display, the leaker confirmed that the display will retain these existing holes, thus keeping the Dynamic Island intact. This means users can expect similar dimensions for the cutout as seen in the iPhone 18 Pro, especially considering the inclusion of Face ID technology, which typically requires such space.

This development raises questions about consumer interest in the iPhone 20 Pro. How will the presence of a display cutout affect user preference? Feedback from potential buyers may provide insights into this evolving product narrative.
