Key Insights into Strategy’s Market Performance
Following the announcement of midterm election results, shares of Strategy (MSTR) experienced a significant 7% increase, fueled by a concurrent rally in Bitcoin and the general market.
According to CEO Phong Le, Strategy has positioned itself as the fourth largest stock seller in the U.S. for the year 2026, providing it with the label of a “Bitcoin capital cycle.”
It is important to note that Strategy’s Bitcoin valuation remains slightly above its average acquisition price of $75,451, making the impact of leverage a variable factor.
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) also benefitted from this upward trend, while Strategy prepares for its next challenge with the MSCI index decision scheduled for November 11.
Strategy Outpaces Bitcoin Growth
As Bitcoin demonstrated an increase of approximately 3.5% by midday, Strategy’s stock performance, which doubled this advance, aligns with its financial balance. As of June 30, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings were valued at 1.6 times their common book value.
However, the financial cushion is precarious. A recent filing indicated that Strategy holds 849,327 bitcoins at an average price of $75,451, while today’s trading prices hover around $80,500. This narrow margin keeps analysts on alert, resulting in fluctuating earnings estimates.

Strategy’s Need for Recovery of Market Premium
In its third quarter results, Strategy reported raising approximately $21 billion through share sales, which has consequently nearly doubled its diluted share count since late 2024.

These share sales provide Bitcoin value per share primarily when trading exceeds the asset’s worth. Le noted a multiple of 1.15x during the third-quarter call, slightly below the management’s break-even point of 1.22x. Preferred dividends, approximately $1.76 billion annually, remain a continual cost for the company.
Simultaneously, BitMine follows a comparable strategy with ether, witnessing an 8% increase today and reporting a total of 6,060,506 ether, adding 8,573 to its holdings last week. However, its stock has also faced a downturn, decreasing 58% over the prior year.
In contrast, MARA Holdings (MARA) experienced a slight decline of 3%, despite holding 35,577 bitcoins as of June 30. An adjustment to their share price target by Bernstein from $17 to $10 followed a recent gubernatorial change in Texas, which may delay critical project approvals. MARA is on track to report its earnings on November 9.
A Beneficial Day Amid Financial Constraints
Today’s performance illustrates the benefits of leverage for Strategy shareholders, but the thin margin between Bitcoin’s market price and cost indicates a need for a return to a more stable premium before considering the cycle as robust.
The upcoming MSCI index announcement on November 11 will further test Strategy’s resilience in the market.
