ATLANTA – Two women were apprehended early Wednesday following a dispute in which one woman sustained a gunshot wound to the foot on Spring Street, as reported by the Atlanta Police Department.

Authorities received word of the shooting incident at approximately 2 a.m. at 70 Spring St NW. Upon their arrival, officers found a woman with a gunshot injury to her foot. Emergency personnel reported that the victim was conscious and responsive, before she was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.

According to police, the victim had been socializing with two other women when an argument erupted. This argument escalated to the point where the victim was shot. Early investigations suggest that alcohol may have contributed to the violence.

Officers arrested two individuals, identified as Rachel King, born on September 3, and Carmen Carter. King faces a charge of aggravated assault and was taken to Fulton County Jail. Carter has been charged with obstruction and booked at the City of Atlanta Detention Center.

Ongoing Investigation

As the investigation progresses, law enforcement has not yet disclosed the identity of the victim. Additionally, details surrounding the specific cause of the dispute and the identity of the individual who discharged the firearm remain unclear. The authorities are continuing their inquiries into the events that led to the shooting.

The information in this report was obtained from the Atlanta Police Department, which provided initial details related to the incident.
