Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the upcoming release of its Prism Collection, a new series of PlayStation 5 accessories that draws inspiration from the nostalgic transparent aesthetics of the late 1990s. This line features DualSense wireless controllers and matching console covers that offer a glimpse into the inner workings of these gaming devices.

Initially, the Prism Collection will be available in three vibrant colors:

• Flare Orange
• Emerald Green
• Graphite Gray

The price for the DualSense wireless controller will be set at $84.99, while the console covers will retail for $74.99.

Preorder and Release Dates

Customers can begin preordering items from the Prism Collection starting on November 10th through both the PlayStation online store and participating retailers. The official release of the products is scheduled for February 4th, 2027.

Design Inspiration

According to a post on the PlayStation blog, the creation of the Prism Collection was motivated by the design team’s desire to showcase a transparent look for the PS5. The intention is to allow players to appreciate the design intricacies and craftsmanship that went into the fabrication of the DualSense controllers and PlayStation 5 consoles.
