Weather Alerts for Palm Beach and Okeechobee Counties
The WPBF 25 First Warning Weather team has designated Sunday and Monday as days of significant weather impact. A Flood Watch is currently in effect throughout Palm Beach County.
Current Weather Alerts
A Flood Watch remains valid until Monday night across Palm Beach County. Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Warning for this area—including West Palm Beach, Wellington, and Palm Beach Gardens—has expired as of 11:15 p.m. on Sunday.
In Okeechobee County, a Flash Flood Warning also concluded at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. This warning covered regions such as the city of Okeechobee, Treasure Island, and Taylor Creek. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Melbourne has reported that significant rainfall has been observed, with accumulations between 3 to 6 inches.
As a result of these adverse conditions, flash flooding is presently underway. Portions of major roads, including SR 70 and US 441 around Okeechobee, have become impassable, and motorists are advised to avoid these areas. Additionally, water intrusion into buildings has been reported.
The NWS emphasizes safety for travelers: “Turn around, don’t drown” when encountering flooded roadways, as most flood-related fatalities occur in vehicles. Drivers should remain vigilant and avoid driving through any flooded areas.
Monday’s Forecast
Looking ahead to Monday, residents can expect a 60% chance of scattered rain and breezy conditions as storm patterns continue to affect the area.
