President Trump Agrees to Visa for Mother of Deceased Bronx Teen
Tragic Death of Javits Frimpong
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced that President Donald Trump will expedite a visa for the mother of
Javits Frimpong, a 15-year-old boy from Ghana, who was fatally shot in the Bronx. Frimpong was heading to school when he was shot
in the abdomen, succumbing to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Response from Mayor Mamdani
Expressing the deep sorrow felt across the city, Mayor Mamdani stated, “The murder of a child is a pain no parent should have to endure,
let alone from thousands of miles away.” He emphasized that Frimpong’s mother deserves the opportunity to say goodbye to her son in person.
Details Surrounding the Incident
Javits Frimpong moved to the Bronx from Ghana approximately a year ago to live with his father. Reports indicate that he had been
experiencing bullying at school, a situation revealed to his father just days before the tragic shooting.
Community and Government Support
U.S. Congressman Ritchie Torres voiced the community’s grief, insisting that “every child in the Bronx deserves to walk
to school without fearing for their life.” Meanwhile, Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, praised the collaboration between
local authorities and Ghanaian officials, affirming their commitment to ensuring justice for Frimpong.
Abouwd opposition support, he stated, “Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi’s pain as a loving mother is unimaginable and indeed everything must be done
to ensure she is present to pay her respects.” The Ghanaian government has confirmed that it will cover all costs related to her travel and
is prepared to assist with the funeral expenses.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation into the shooting remains active, with no arrests made thus far. Community leaders are urging for swift action to
ensure clarity and justice surrounding this incident.
